Great Product for it price easy install
I got the 64K size to replace a 48K unit with a lousy 2 digit interface. I like that this one has many functionalities programmable and a decent interface to show the count down of the gallons until the next regeneration. The formula for determining how many gallons to use before regenerating seems a bit off. I've had to lower the number of gallons twice but with trial and error I'll find the right number and should be fine from there.UPDATE: After lowering the number of gallons between regenerations many times, I finally figured out the problem. I have relatively low water pressure at 65 psi. This is a factor when the final phase of the regeneration cycle (bf for brine fill) refills the brine tank to set up for the next regeneration. The factory default of 12 minutes is not enough water into the brine tank at my water pressure for this tank size. This is one of the settings you are recommended not to change, however if you have low water pressure and a large tank (I have the 64K large tank), you will need to adjust that parameter. I set mine to 22 minutes and I was then able to set the number of gallons between regenerations much closer to the calculated value using the formula in the instructions book. It took some trial and error testing but I think I finally got the right settings.
Went fine. Works good except that I have a small leak at the brine tank. Have called tech support 3 times, freaking crickets from them. But, they do have a nice voice mail system!!!!
So far I am very happy barring any mishaps as yet to come. The instillation was very simple. I fastened the new equipment to our water supply using flexible 1 inch stainless steel "shark bite" connections. The 64,000 gain device may be large for two persons in a home with two full baths and a half bath plus a dishwasher, built-in 100# ice machine and two washing machines.
QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
Ask a Question-
Can you recommend a Plummer
We do not work with a network of plumbers. It is best to research installers in your area for plumbing needs.
-
What size filtration system do you have you have for the whole house for a family of 6 to 8
There are other factors that help us determine the size of a system and what system to recommend. Please head to our page for water softeners and press the "get my recommended water softener" button to get a recommendation based on these other factors. Thank you.
-
Can i get an free estimate
Hello, our price before tax is listed on the product page. $929.99. We do not offer installation, we only provide the product.
-
What is the recommended salt to be used with this system?
Morton's brand pellet style salt
-
How much salt does it need per month?
You'll maintain 80 lbs. of salt within the tank. On average, that will last homes anywhere from 2-3 monhts, however this can vary dependinig on your water usage.
-
Can I utilize potassium chloride in this system? Also, would an enclosed shed be allowable for the warranty?
Yes, potassium chloride can be used with our systems.
And, yes, an enclosed shed is exactly what we're looking for if the system needs to be installed outside.
-
Does this system use salt pellets?
Yes, the softener system would use salt.
-
were are your products made
We obtain parts overseas and assemble in the U.S.
-
After I installed the Reverse Osmosis system and turned the water on to the system water started coming out of the drain line. It will never turn off it continues to run water through to the drain. The tank did fill up and I could get water out of the faucet but the drain line never stop draining water
I would recommend reaching out to our support team to troubleshoot this issue for you.
-
How often do you need to change the filters
The pre-filter that sits in line with the water softener will need to be changed every 5-6 months for city water sources, well water sources change time will vary depending on the water quality and likely be shorter than the 5-6 month range.Â
The RO filters stage 1, 2, 4 are to be changed every 11-12months. The membrane is every 2 years. -
What are the details of the warranty?
The warranty is 1 year coverage upon purchase of any proven to be defective parts or electronics. If you register your product within the first 60 days, you get an additional 4 years, total of 5 year warranty.
-
Does this remove pfas from your water?
AS-FS-25SCZ, or the AS-FPxxx series will remove pfas.
-
My drain is 20 ft above the softener. Is that an issue?
The drain line/hose can go up no more then 7 feet above the sytem is whts recommended. If the drain line needs to run further than 20 feet the line will need to be increased from 1/2" to 3/4" at the 20 foot mark.
-
SKU: AS-WHF64D I have a septic system. Can I drain the backflush into it? Or do I need to install a dry well?
For this is would be best to install a dry well or to have the drain water flow out to an outside area devoid of plant life. It is not recommended to have the drain water flowing directly into the septic system as it may damage the septic.
-
The equipment can be outside
An outdoor install is unfortunately not recommended as it voids the warranty. Due to the electrical control valve head, we would not be able to guarantee the best performance if the system is exposed to the elements. When exposed to the elements, there is also the chance for rust to occur, which can be a slow killer for the system.
In rare instances, certain homes are plumbed to have the inlet/outlet meet the water softener outside. If this is the case, we highly recommend building a small shed or enclosure around the system to keep it safe from the elements.
-
We have a well & cistern, will this purify any bacteria or just filter particles?
The softener system and pre-filter are not made to purify the water. They are there to pre-treat and soften the water. With that being said, the reverse osmosis system in the bundle will remove 99% of the contaminants from the water for pure drinking water from your kitchen sink. Additionally, if you have iron which is common with well water then you should consider the AS-HS64FM. This is the 64,000 Grain Harmony Water Softener w/ fine mesh resin for added iron removal.
-
How often do we have to change the GAC?
The 10" Sediment/GAC/Zinc Pre-Filter that comes with this bundle replaces every 6 months or sooner varying on your water quality.
-
Can it filter highly chlorinated water
The Sediment/Carbon/Zinc Pre-Filter that comes with the bundle will effectively filter the chlorine and the RO System also filters chlorine.
-
How much water to regenerate per week.
Per regeneration, the 64,000 Grain Water Softener uses 50-75 gallons per cycle.
-
Cannot be install outside with sun and rain every day?
An outdoor install is unfortunately not recommended as it voids the warranty. Due to the electrical control valve head, we would not be able to guarantee the best performance if the system is exposed to the elements. When exposed to the elements, there is also the chance for rust to occur, which can be a slow killer for the system.
In rare instances, certain homes are plumbed to have the inlet/outlet meet the water softener outside. If this is the case, we highly recommend building a small shed or enclosure around the system to keep it safe from the elements.
-
What is the flow rate fir the whole house filter?
This GAC pre-filter may drop your existing flow rate by up to 3gpm.
-
Does this filter lead for the whole house?
The blue pre-filter is installed in line before the water softener system. Your water source should hit the pre-filter first. The Reverse Osmosis system is a point-of-use system installed underneath the kitchen sink.
-
Why do we have white residue after washing our dishes? Our bathroom also has brown/orange discoloration around the water drain and below the faucet. Thank you.
It sounds like this is water from a well water source that may have levels of iron and high sediments. The water softener in conjunction with the pre-filter is designed to remove the elements that make that water hard along with up to 2PPM of iron. The 64,000 Grain System (AS-HS64D) for this product listing is meant more city water sources and the 64,000 Grain System we would advise for high iron is the AS-HS64FM w/ fine mesh resin for added iron removal. This system will provide up to 10 PPM of iron filtering which is far more suitable for well water sources.Â

Does it comes with hardware to use your own faucet in th RO filter
The RO system will only work with an RO faucet. An RO faucet is provided with the system for install. The system will not work with just any faucet. You are more than welcome to choose a different RO faucet so long as the faucet is compatible with RO systems.
-
Does it come with the filters and how often would I need to put salt and change the filters out?? How much are the filters?
the pre-sediment filter on the water softener will need to be replaced every 6 months; the first two filters on the RO will need to replace every year and the 3rd and 4th every 2 years. Salt will need to be added in between regenerations.Â

During natural disasters, like the winter storm in Texas recently, and the city announces a boil water notice because it cannot guarantee the purity of the water, is it still safe to drink the water without boiling it if the water is filtered with this system and then again in the RO system? Do we need to change the filters immediately following a boil water city ordinance?
As long as your temperatures are no longer freezing temperatures, the softener system and RO System will be fine. It is safe to drink water without boiling it, so long as the water passes through the RO System. Additionally, if the city gives a boil water status or if the city says that there may be more contaminants than normal in the water, then you can still drink the RO water without boiling. You may simply need to change the first two RO filters (pre-sediment and pre-carbon) sooner than the designated replacement time which is normally 11-12 months.
-
Is this system salt free?
Unfortunately, we have no saltless systems. Our internal research has determined that saltless systems are still not as efficient as ones that use salt. Our line of water softeners use salt and they are also compatible with potassium pellets.
-
Can you install and how muck
We are not contracted with any professional installers at this time. We recommend researching your local plumbers and asking if they have any experience installing water softeners.
-
What is your return policy?
Return policy is 30-days unused.
-
How many gallons does it use to backwash?
It will use between 80-90 gallons of water
-
Does this come with the filters needed to complete the install, or does something else need to be purchase to be able to install and use immediately?
Hi Kayla,Â
Everything comes included to install. -
Is this good for well water?

-
The water in my salt tank now exceeds the height of the salt, is this normal?
Thank you for reaching out to us. Outside of regeneration, the water level should always be about half-filled in the salt tank, regardless of the salt level. You should have started with 80 lbs of salt. That amount normally lasts our customers around 2-3 months. Once the salt level is about 2-3" from the bottom of the tank, you'll need to add another 80 lbs.Â
Please let us know if you have any further questions. -

What is the difference between AS-WHF64D and AS-WHF64FM? Which one it better?
The Harmony Series of Water Softening Systems can be broken down into two different models which are the standard models like the AS-HS64-D and the fine mesh resin models like the AS-HS64FM. These are essentially the same systems in terms of dimensions and overall look. What is distinctly different is the fact that the FM model provides more iron filtering. The D models provide up to 2PPM (Parts Per Million) of iron filtering while the FM models provide up to 10PPM of iron filtering.Â
