Hello, I am in the market for a water softener and a friend pointed me to your units. I live in Long Beach (90808) in a two story home with 3 baths and four individuals, along with the regular appliances like fridge, dishwasher, washer and dryer and 50 gallon water heater tank. I also have a swimming pool that would also be piped into the supply coming off the water softener. I really would like to avoid having to use the bypass valve to top off the pool water during the summer months, which tends to evaporate water at a rate of 2-3 inches per week, this would also potentially reduce scale build up on pool tile. I have a 1" water main line supply feeding into the house. I am looking at the following Harmony unit AS-HS64FM which is rated at 64,000 grains with Fine Mesh Resin. I researched your website, but could not find some of the information I was looking for. I would like to know the following 1. Am I sizing appropriately for what I am trying to accomplish? 2. What head brand does this unit come with? ie.. Fleck? 3. Can this unit be installed outside? 4. The 64,000 Grain Harmony Water Softener will use anywhere from 50-75 gallons on average per regeneration. Typically you will regenerate once or twice a month. 

Can I install this in the basement and run the recharge effluent hose upstairs to a standpipe, so I don't need a sump pump?

The unit can be installed anywhere there is a connection for the inlet and outlet plumbing. If by "recharge effluent hose" you are referring to the drain line, then it would depend on how you are routing the line. With the drain line, it is advised to not have any sags in the line and to also not exceed more than 7-8 feet vertically. This generally helps to avoid back-pressure issues. If you are within those parameters then it should be fine.

The system does not detect hard water. Rather it simply regenerates based on gallons used in the household to maintain softness.

can this softener be mounted outside in a warm climate

The softener can not be installed outside where it is exposed to the element. If installing outside is the only option, we recommend building a shed or cover with a tarp so the system is not exposed to sunlight or rain directly. Please also follow local guideline during the installation of the system.

I am in a basement and the drain is 7-8 feet above floor level is this a problem?

The drain line can not exceed 7 feet overhead.

Is the control valve and riser for this water softener compatible with a Canpro MediaGuard Distributor for the addition of KDF-85 media?

Is there a battery backup so the time isn't lost when there's a power outage? I have the Harmony 64,000 grain.

Hi there, unfortunately, our system does not come with a backup battery.

The settings are mostly kept intact after a power outage, other than the time.

what is the size of AS-HS64FM. I have limited space and need to make sure it will fit. Can I use a smaller salt tank with this system to save on space? What is the smallest salt tank size available?

The 64,000 Grain system has two tanks.

The resin tank with the electronic control valve on top is 60" tall, and 12" in wide.

The brine tank is the same size for all three of the standard water softeners. The size of the tank is 37" tall, and 15" wide.

We do also have a system called the all in one cabinet style system which combines the two tanks into one.

This system is a 34,000 Grains system called the Harmony Lite.

I am wanting to install the water softener in my basement and the brine tank in my garage. My basement floor is 9 feet below my garage floor. The brine tank line would need to be 10-12 feet long. Is it possible to have the brine tank be installed this way?

Does the valve have an auto bypass feature so that water is still available for use during regeneration?

The valve does not have an auto bypass feature.

Does this eliminate manganese, as well?

Water softener will only remove calcium and magnesium and up to 10ppm of iron.

after I installed softener hot water become kind of milky .Is it normal?

Yes it is.

Who will service the softner after the install like yearly maintenance or problem maintenance.

Aquasure does not have technicians to come to the homes to services units, any maintenance or repairs needed will be the customers responsibility. Warranty will just cover any replacement parts if needed.

I have a well with 3.5 gpm flow rate. My pressure tank is set to 70 psi and only drops to 65 before kicking in. What is the maximum amount of water pressure this system is designed for?

No, you'll need a carbon filter to help with smells in your water.

How will I know it is time to add salt?

A good time to add salt to the brine tank is when the salt level is about 1-2 inches from the bottom of the tank. Then you can add 80 lbs of salt to the tank.

This would depend on what contaminates you have in your water you are trying to filter out.
