Don't Wait for the Next Disaster | Benefits of Granular Activated Carbon and RO

On February 3, 2023, a train derailment involving 50 cars, 10 of which were carrying hazardous materials, took place in East Palestine, Ohio. During the incident, five of those cars released vinyl chloride into the air, which was later burned off by crews in a controlled environment, creating a dark plume of smoke.

The fiery derailment has highlighted the potentially disastrous consequences of chemical exposures in populated areas which left the small Ohio town of East Palestine frightened and uncertain of the safety of their air and water conditions.

Despite officials claiming that the controlled release wasn’t dangerous, a woman from North Lima, located 10 miles away from the epicenter of East Palestine blames the incident for her chickens’ sudden death. Although vinyl chloride is commonly associated with air pollution, it may enter drinking water from the flow of water through older PVC piping made before 1977.

Would you blame her though?

Is Your Tap Water Really Clean?

Did you know that your regular tap water from your city or municipal can contain over 200 contaminants such as lead, pesticides, and bacteria? These common contaminants can have severe health effects and even long-term exposure to low levels of these substances can lead to chronic conditions such as cancer, birth defects, and developmental problems. Even if your water appears clear, it does not guarantee that it is free from harmful substances.

Many of the contaminants are odorless and tasteless, so you may not even know that they are present in your water. With all these risks, how can you be certain that your water is safe to drink?

But don’t worry. We’ve got a solution for you.

Benefits of Aquasure's Reverse Osmosis

The Benefits of Granular Activated Carbon and Reverse Osmosis

Reverse osmosis systems and Granular activated carbon are essential for eradicating these dangerous contaminants from drinking water.

Protect your drinking water with Aquasure’s reverse osmosis filtration system. These compact yet effective systems work by pushing water through a series of sealed filters, which eliminate harmful chemicals as the water passes through. The process is then completed by a semi-permeable membrane that removes any residual chemicals, directing them away from your drinking water source and leaving only pure, clean water to flow through to your tap. The best part? It’s affordable and even makes your water taste better!

Granular activated carbon is a highly absorbent substance that effectively removes 99.99% of chlorine, VOCs, pesticides, bad odors, bad taste, soil, silt, sand, rust, sediment, and inhibits bacteria growth on your piping. We use GAC in our pre-filters, reverse osmosis systems, whole-house water treatment systems and under sink water filters.

Protect You and Your Family

The East Palestine tragedy is a harsh reminder that we can't always rely on public water treatment facilities to ensure the well-being of our families. By having a whole house filtration system, you can safeguard the health of those you love by providing them with clean and safe drinking water at all times.

At Aquasure, we understand the importance of water and have created our products with that in mind. We believe water to be one of the most valuable resources that deserve to be treated with the utmost respect.
