    Yes, the water softener does require salt or potassium pellets to be added to the brine tank.

  • I bought the 48000 grain softener I'm trying to install the basket the bottom of the valve I'd lined up the tabs pushed down turning it counter clockwise it will not lock in place it fills like it's the wrong basket

  • Are your water softeners rated for being located outside (the home)? I cannot place this inside my garage without major replumb

    No, our water softeners are for indoor installation only. If it must be outside, it needs to be protected in some kind of dedicated shed.

  • Does this filter out fluoride? Or do we need a separate filter for that? Do we have to replace filters regularly?

    No it does not, the only unit we have to filter fluoride is the RO. 

    filters come with the unit, replacements are every year.

  • Is this made in the USA?

    Some parts are made in Taiwan and some here in Southern California. All systems are built in our warehouse here.

  • When the brine cycle is happening should the brine tank be empty?

    During the regeneration stage BD the water in the brine tank should be getting suctioned out.

  • What is HS 48D water softener factory warranty?

    We offer a warranty of 5 years for our softeners. Our RO is covered for 2 years if purchased separately and 5 years if purchased with a softener. To activate our warranty, you will need to register your system(s) on our website within the first 60 days of purchase. Our warranty covers part replacements and shipping.
