Does this filter work on the AQT-56SE Model

That filter is for our smaller Fortitude V2, the AQT-56SE is only compatible with the Fortitude Pro tank.

Can this filter effect water pressure in the house if it needs to be replaced?

If it were to be excessively clogged by contaminants you could see a reduced water pressure, typically we recommend this filter be replaced every 6 months but this largely depends on the quality of your water.

How do you change out the filter?

Turn off the water supply from the pre-filter, run a faucet to release pressure, press the red pressure release button on top of the cap, use the white housing wrench to slide around the body of the housing, turn the housing and unscrew from the cap. Take out old filter, replace with new one. Reattach housing to cap, turn water supply back on.

Can the blue housing be replace with a clear housing? I want to be able to see how dirty it is and change.

No, the V2 canisters only accept our V2-style filters and will not accept standard 4.5" x 10" filters.

I currently have the fortitude v2 series. The replacement filter that is listed is AF-SCZ-25HFS. However, we have well water and do not need the chlorine/chemical components of the filter. I'm looking to purchase a cheaper filter. Will AF-PS-30HFS work? Or is there another alternative?

Hello thank you for reaching out, Yes AF-PS-30HFS works great for well water. This pre-filter is also reuseable and washable when time comes of "replacing the pre-filter" all you need to do is take it out of the canister and give it a good rinse and intall it as normal.

Catalytic carbon is more effective for chloramine. We use GAC carbon which is effective for chlorine but catalytic carbon would be more effective for chloramine.

This can vary, depending on water quality. Normally, these cartridges should be changed every 6 months or up to 50,000 gallons.

AF-SCZ-25HFS  - can not be washable as the material is carbon block form. 
The pleated filter is usable as the material is allowed to be washed.

If this is a 5-micron filer, why doesn't it say on the lable or in the specifications?

I have a Fortitude V/PRO Series whole house filter. The filter itself measures 9” X 4.5”. I cannot find a 9” filter. Does the 10” X 4.5” fit into my canister? If not what filter do I need?

I was unaware of the time frame for replacement. My entire system was installed new by a professional plumber team back in February of 2022. Its now November 2022 and my Harmony is generating an error on screen during purge. Does this filter have anything to do with that? Would the filter cause problems with regeneration?

Is it possible for this filter to leave a black sediment in our toilet tanks?

Yes, carbon is common with brand new filters or with filters that are overdue on replacement. These filters can last up to 6 months (depending on water quality).

Your response to others as to how often the filter should be changed states “depends on water quality”. Well, I know my water quality—can you send me a chart or something to indicate how often to change it dependent upon those readings?

Yes, it will remove chlorine and only some parts of chloramine.

What is the flow rate? The label says initial rate 2 gpm but I saw that on Lowes Web it says 12 Gpm. I received one as part of my water softener purchase but not sure if I should install it if the flow rate is 2 gpm

As this is a high flow filter, after the initial rate of 2 GPM, it should be flowing at 12 GPM.

Will this reduce water flow or pressure to home fixtures?

No there is nothing in the system that should reduce flow or pressure.

What are the micron sizes of the filter layers. The label only says 25 microns, which is pretty large. Are the inner layers smaller than that? I have a 5 micron filter now.

The Aquasure high flow 5-micron carbon block filter made of high-density coconut shell carbon. It helps reduce unpleasant taste, odor, chlorine, and other contaminants from water.

We also have a 25-micron dual-purpose sediment and carbon filter which provides a unique design that first uses the sediment outer layer to remove the majority of suspended particles in the water. In the second stage, an inner carbon core absorbs chlorine, taste, odors, and chemicals. 

Finally, we have a 30-micron pleated sediment filter which is washable (up to two additional times before needing to be replaced), and maximized for dirt-holding capacity to help reduce sand, dirt & larger particles such as rust; catches "sticks, rocks, and frogs".

Could a non plumber/ regular consumer replace this cartridge or does it realistically require a plumber? Please be honest!
