Electronic Printed Circuit Board with Digital Display for Harmony Series Water Softener

Just purchased an Aquasure water softener and I have an issue with the time setting. The clock does not change every minute and what I mean by that is that it takes 2 minutes and 30 second for the clock to change one minute on the digital readout. I timed it to make sure and I've never seen anything like it. What could be the problem? Thank you

My clock keeps gaining time can I just replace the control board?

Replacing the circuit board is impossible!!!! When the old one is impossible to remove. I have completely opened the clips on the sides and wiggled for three hours. What else could prevent undoing the power cords from disconnecting?
