I got the 64K size to replace a 48K unit with a lousy 2 digit interface. I like that this one has many functionalities programmable and a decent interface to show the count down of the gallons until the next regeneration. The formula for determining how many gallons to use before regenerating seems a bit off. I've had to lower the number of gallons twice but with trial and error I'll find the right number and should be fine from there.UPDATE: After lowering the number of gallons between regenerations many times, I finally figured out the problem. I have relatively low water pressure at 65 psi. This is a factor when the final phase of the regeneration cycle (bf for brine fill) refills the brine tank to set up for the next regeneration. The factory default of 12 minutes is not enough water into the brine tank at my water pressure for this tank size. This is one of the settings you are recommended not to change, however if you have low water pressure and a large tank (I have the 64K large tank), you will need to adjust that parameter. I set mine to 22 minutes and I was then able to set the number of gallons between regenerations much closer to the calculated value using the formula in the instructions book. It took some trial and error testing but I think I finally got the right settings.
This water softener is great! Our old one was not doing the job and it was not that old. We purchased this one and installed it and it works great. We have really hard water. The water looks great and our tub, sink and toilet are not rusty any more. If anyone needs a water softener and has extremely hard water, this is the item to buy. Guaranteed!!!
Easy to install, great instructions but the material cost me double to put it in. Build back broker....I guess!
So far I am very happy barring any mishaps as yet to come. The instillation was very simple. I fastened the new equipment to our water supply using flexible 1 inch stainless steel "shark bite" connections. The 64,000 gain device may be large for two persons in a home with two full baths and a half bath plus a dishwasher, built-in 100# ice machine and two washing machines.
Very nice water softener. Had to do a lot of pipe work but actual inhalation was easy. It dropped Ca2+ from 220ppm to 10ppm. Feel the difference in water quality immediately. Did some math and changed regeneration cycles from 1000 gal to 2500 gal. Highly recommend this softener.

Are aquq system same as aquasure
What you typed is "aquq system". We are not sure of what company you are referring to. If you are perhaps referring to Aqua Systems Inc then know that AquasureUSA is a different company altogether and we have no affiliation with Aqua Systems Inc.Â

Can I store the tank and the reservoir outside in a custom built wooden shed to surround those pieces? We live in Los Angeles so have pretty mild weather conditions year round.
No Aquasure system is designed for outdoor installation and installing outdoors may void the warranty unless you protect the system from the elements with a shed, enclosure, or garage.
-
Do you install?
Thanks for the question. AquasureUSA does not work with a network of service agents/plumbers so unfortunately, installation or in-home servicing is not included with the purchase of a water filtration system. We would simply advise checking reviews for plumbers on review-sites like Yelp. From there, you can request multiple quotes to guarantee the best possible price for the installation.

How often do the filters need to be replaced? Does the system tell you when they should be replaced?
Hello Bill,
The sediment/pre-filter should be replaced every six months. for the reverse osmosis the first 2 filters should be replaced every year and the other two should be replaced every two years. unfortunately the system dose not indicate when the filter should be replaced; we would recommend keeping a calendar on when the filters will need to be replaced.Â

What is the PH balance of the drinking water that runs through the reverse osmosis system? And, is there a way to use the drinking water system without having the separate tap?
Under ideal conditions, the Reverse Osmosis system will have a PH balance of 8.5-10. You must have the seperate tap installed.

I'm reading here where there has been issues with the clock on the unit being reliable and sticking to schedule. Also, apparently there is issue with noisy re-generation. has there been any improvements to address that?
Hi,
Thank you for reaching out to us regarding your inquiry.Â
Yes, the circuit board sometimes does have issues if the home experiences a power surge or power outage.
Normally a factory restore will resovle that issue. If that does not resove the issue with the time then we replace the circuit board for you right away.
The regeneration cycle does have some noise but it is not loud. The consistent noise is normally the constant draining of the waste water out of the system.
We hope this information helps.
Please let us know if you have any additional questions. -

Is this unit suitable for is this unit suitable for well that is very hard
Hello,Â
In order to give you the best answer, we would need to know the hardness level of your well water either in ppm or gpg. Please give us a call at our 1-800 number. Thank you. -
Do the overflow drain and salt brine drain hoses have to be placed below the elevation of the softener. I am trying to place a softener in the basement and the drain exits the wall, not the floor.
The brine tank must be on the same level as the softener, so the line shouldn't drop any lower than where it connects to the brine tank. The drain line can drop down, but if it needs to gain any elevation, there is a maximum of 7 feet above where it connects to the control head.
