QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Ask a Question
  • How many gallons of water is used for the regen ?

32,000 grain system gallon consumption during regeneration is 30-45 gallons

  • When to add salt to brine tank?

outside of regeneration, the water level should always be about half filled in the salt tank, regardless of the salt level. You should have started with 80lbs of salt. That amount normally lasts our customers around 2-3 months. Once the salt level is about 2-3" from the bottom of the tank, youll need to add another 80lbs.

  • Does your carbon pre-filter eliminate chlorine, and how often does the filter need to be changed

Yes carbon pre-filter effextively removes chlorine. Pre-filter needs to be replaced every 6 months.

  • Is the system installed out side of the home?

This system is for inside installation only. If the system must be installed outside, it must have it's own enclosure and it's own platform.

  • which type salt is require? can i use Morton Water Softener Salt Pellets

We recommend the Morton's brand of pellet style salt

  • what is the pressure drop and flow rate specifications?

A pressure drop would be influenced by the plumbing set-up, the flow rate is reduced to 9gpm.

  • I need the dimensions of the brine tank. Our space is very tight.

    37" x 15"

  • Would it be acceptable if the brine tank and the resin tank are approximately 8 to 10 feet apart? If so I would be able to locally source the tubing. Thank you

The brine tank and resin tank have a max distance of 6ft allowed.

  • How much resin does the AQUASURE AS-HS32FM Harmony hold

    1 cubic ft. of resin

  • NSI certified efficiency ?

Yes our products have gone through NSI certification.

  • I notice that none of the fine grained media Harmony softeners are available through your Amazon.com store. Are these shipping from stock or is there a problem shipping those softeners.

Any items sold by us, through any marketplace, will be fulfilled directly by us.

  • did not get instructions for AS-HS48D

Please see the link for the instruction manual here.

  • What is the system efficacy grains per pound of salt for you unit?

Our system doesn't have a setting for salt efficiency. This model consumes between 9-12 lbs of salt per regeneration. Our units normally regenerate once every 2-4 weeks, depending on quality and ussage.

  • Should the resin tank be filled to the top with resin?

The resin tank will not be filled to the very top. It has about 1 cubic foot of resin inside of it.

  • What is the water flow rate for this system? For 3 person/3 bathroom house with jet showers, will the water flow rate o this system be enough?

This system offers a 9gpm flow rate, that's normally used for up to 3 people and up to 2 bathrooms.

  • What type of salt should be used for this system? Do I have choices for color of both tanks? Since I have to place it outside, I don't want black color which may absorb more heat. Tks

Any type of salt made for water softener system use will do just fine. However, in terms of the shape of salt, we tend to recommend salt pellets as they often dissolve more evenly when compared to most shapes. The resin tank and brine tank come in the standard color black. There is no choice for color.

An outdoor install is unfortunately not recommended as it voids the warranty. Due to factors like the electrical component, i.e. the electrical control valve head we would not be able to guarantee the best performance if the system is exposed to the elements. When exposed to the elements there is also the chance for rust to occur which can be a slow killer for the system. If you absolutely must do an outdoor install we highly recommend building a small shed or enclosure around the system to ensure it is protected.

  • I live in phoenix, can the unit be placed outside?

    • An outdoor install is unfortunately not recommended as it voids the warranty. Due to the electrical control valve head, we would not be able to guarantee the best performance if the system is exposed to the elements. When exposed to the elements, there is also the chance for rust to occur, which can be a slow killer for the system.
    • In rare instances, certain homes are plumed to have the inlet/outlet meet the water softener outside. If this is the case, we highly recommend building a small shed or enclosure around the system to keep it safe from the elements.

  • Where can I download the manual for this. I just ordered one and my plumber needs me to send him the manual.

  • I received my softener it's missing the flow holder with gasket, how do I order one???

Thank you for reaching out to us. This part is no longer required with our current assemblies so we are not longer shipping it out.

  • I just purchased the Harmony 32000 grain system, can I add the reverse osmosis pre filtered system to this?

    Yes you can.

  • I have bought one of your systems from an auction and it was incomplete. Can I purchase the missing parts separately from you?

Yes, parts are available on our website. Please contact our technical support team for assistance.

  • What is the minimum flow rate in gallons per minute (gpm) required for the Harmony Series Water Softeners with the Fine Mesh Resin?

32,000 grain unit is 9 gpm

  • Is it easy to check the salt levels?

    Yes!

  • We have well water that is slightly acidic with very high iron levels. It varies greatly from looking clear much of the time to becoming opaque orange with iron sediment after a big rainstorm. We live in a small 2 bedroom one bath home and collect rain water for outdoor use. What size system do you recommend and should we get a pre-filter in addition to the fine mesh resin?

Please contact our Technical Support team for details and recommendations!

  • I am confused about the answer here to the last question and the answer in your Harmony Water Softener General Questions answer on this web site. In the answer here you said: "The 32,000 grain Harmony water softener removes 32,000 grains of hardness per regeneration. During the regeneration, this system consumes 15 lbs. of salt." However, in the answer in your Harmony General Questions it states: "Each system size will use a different amount of salt per regeneration. 32,000 grain: 9lbs-12lbs 48,000 grain: 14lbs-16lbs 64,000 grain: 18lbs-20lbs " So which is correct?? It makes a big difference in salt consumption and cost, especially if using Potassium Cloride.

    32,000 grain: 9lbs-12lbs
    48,000 grain: 14lbs-16lbs
    64,000 grain: 18lbs-20lbs

This would be the correct answer.

  • Does the Harmony Series 32,000 Grain Water Softener with Fine Mesh Resin come with a sediment filter. It does when purchased from Home Depot, but this website doesn’t address it.

Hi, we have the sediment filter available for purchase separately on our website.

  • How much does the Harmony 32,000 weigh?

Resin tank about 67lbs without water.

  • How much water is used during the regeneration cycle

    40 to 80 gallons.

  • What is the warranty on AS-HS32FM

Standard one year warranty. Customer has 60 days from purchase to register the product for additional 4 years. Warranty coveres replacement part and tech support over email.

  • What is the volume of the resin in the 32000 Grain model. I am assumming one cubic foot. Is that correct?

    That is correct - 1cf.

  • How much water and salt does the 32,00p grain unit use during regeneration?

    9-12lbs. of salt
    30-45 gallons of water

  • Our we'll water is already considered soft but we're trying to remove the small amount of iron that causes stains in the toilets. Will we use less salt?

There will not be less salt usage, the unit will still use the same amount of salt for each regeneration cycle it will go through.

  • Regeneration time and water usage?

1 hour and 45 minutes for regeneration and it will consume 60-75 gallons of water during regeneration.

  • can i get an 11 inch brine tank? the 15 inch is too wide for my small space

We only have one size for the brine tank.

  • Which product works on manganese?

A water softener can help reduce Manganese, but only a Reverse Osmosis system can effectively remove Manganese.

  • how much salt does it hold

The Harmony Water Softener requires no more than 80lbs. of salt in the brine tank.

Typically, 80lbs. of salt is two standard size bags, or two 40lbs. bags.

*Some brands carry smaller weights so ensure to check the weight of the bag before purchasing.

  • Does the aqua sure 32, 000 have some kind of backup when the power goes out?

Our water softeners do not have an integrated backup. If you have problems with power outages, we recommend having the softener connected to a UPS (uninterruptible power supply), or you can instead make sure to check the unit after a power outage and input the time and gallons back in again as it won't remember these settings sometimes when power is lost.

  • I am confused about the brine tank hookup line. The hole do not match uo with the float

    Hi there,
The holes may not line up perfectly, but will still lift and can be adjusted to meet the tubing.

Feel free to reach out directly for more info.

  • I'm replacing a softener that is 30 years old. I use Iron Out salt in brine tank. The resin tank is 1 cu. FT. There is a small amount of Iron in the water. Does the 1 CU. FT. resin take indicate I should by a unit with same size resin tank. Should I buy the AS-HS32FM or AS-HS32D version of the Harmony water softener. Is there any negative issue with the FM versus D versions of softener? Do they have same life expectancy, etc. ?

    Hello,

Fine Mesh upgrades are ideal and recommended for iron filtering concerns: fine mesh filters up to 10ppm of iron while our regular resin filters 2ppm of iron.

With the fine mesh (if upgraded) since it is packed tighter, water will move more slowly through it, so you will lose flow rate, but you won't necessarily lose pressure, about 12-14 gallons per minute, for the 48,000, for example.

All resin tanks are designed to last between 8-10 years but the lifespan of the resin will always vary based on the condition of water and its environment.

  • Why are none of your softeners not physically available in stores? Also I had read a review that said resin had left softener and got into plumbing. What would cause this?

We are currently an online retailer only, though may expand our prodcuts in store in the future.

Usually resin going into the plumbing lines is caused by reverse plumbing.

  • What is the efficiency of this softener...how many grains of softening per pound of salt?

The 32,000 grain Harmony water softener removes 32,000 grains of hardness per regeneration.
During the regeneration, this system consumes 15 lbs. of salt.
