No battery backup during power failure

The softener and filter combination works great and resolved many issues with our well water.
BUT, the softener does not have a built-in battery backup, like our old system. As we loos power quite often, we are constantly have to reset the time on the system. This gets quite annoying.
Customer service was not helpful with finding a backup, at a low cost. I would not buy again because of this.

Buy salt

Easy to install, great instructions but the material cost me double to put it in. Build back broker....I guess!

Great instrument

Very nice water softener. Had to do a lot of pipe work but actual inhalation was easy. It dropped Ca2+ from 220ppm to 10ppm. Feel the difference in water quality immediately. Did some math and changed regeneration cycles from 1000 gal to 2500 gal. Highly recommend this softener.

LOVE IT!!!

I have written maybe 3 reviews ever before this one and all were for items I just HAD to brag about. This one makes 4. We have had 4 water softeners in the past…a $4000 General Ionics system about 20 years ago that was awesome, a $600 one-tank system from Home Depot that was mediocre at best and a second hand commercial system that we bought for $300 that worked well. I would definitely compare this one to the $4000 system we had years ago. I am simply amazed at how soft our water is. My husband built our house so installing the system was nothing for him so I can’t speak to the installation but the functionality is way more than I expected for the cost. I am so so happy we purchased this system. It’s my new favorite thing!

Great product

This water softener is great! Our old one was not doing the job and it was not that old. We purchased this one and installed it and it works great. We have really hard water. The water looks great and our tub, sink and toilet are not rusty any more. If anyone needs a water softener and has extremely hard water, this is the item to buy. Guaranteed!!!

I notice that none of the fine grained media Harmony softeners are available through your Amazon.com store. Are these shipping from stock or is there a problem shipping those softeners.

how much salt does it hold

The Harmony Water Softener requires no more than 80lbs. of salt in the brine tank.

Typically, 80lbs. of salt is two standard size bags, or two 40lbs. bags.

*Some brands carry smaller weights so ensure to check the weight of the bag before purchasing.
I'm replacing a softener that is 30 years old. I use Iron Out salt in brine tank. The resin tank is 1 cu. FT. There is a small amount of Iron in the water. Does the 1 CU. FT. resin take indicate I should by a unit with same size resin tank. Should I buy the AS-HS32FM or AS-HS32D version of the Harmony water softener. Is there any negative issue with the FM versus D versions of softener? Do they have same life expectancy, etc. ?

Fine Mesh upgrades are ideal and recommended for iron filtering concerns: fine mesh filters up to 10ppm of iron while our regular resin filters 2ppm of iron.

With the fine mesh (if upgraded) since it is packed tighter, water will move more slowly through it, so you will lose flow rate, but you won't necessarily lose pressure, about 12-14 gallons per minute, for the 48,000, for example.
All resin tanks are designed to last between 8-10 years but the lifespan of the resin will always vary based on the condition of water and its environment.
What is the efficiency of this softener...how many grains of softening per pound of salt?

The 32,000 grain Harmony water softener removes 32,000 grains of hardness per regeneration.
During the regeneration, this system consumes 15 lbs. of salt.
