Ask a Question
  • What is the Max Distance I can have the Brine Tank from the Main unit ? I would like to have the Brine tank in the garage and the Main unit in the basement . The current unit I have is this way. The total distance is less then 15' . Thank you

The max distance the brine tank can be from the unit is 6 FT.

  • how much water is used for backwashing for the 64000 grain unit? And at what flow rate?

Gallons consuption during regenerationis 50-75 gallons. 20Gallons per Minute.

  • Is it possible to purchase replacement parts for the system? I accidentally broke the plastic knob on the high strength bypass valve on the inlet side and now my system is virtually useless i.e. water cannot flow into the tank.

You may purchase replcement on our website. https://aquasureusa.com/products/harmony-series-bypass-valve?_pos=2&_sid=066efcf7c&_ss=r

  • I do not have the room to put an unit inside. Could this be installed outside? I have a well house already with room in it, could it possibly be added to it?

The Digital Control Valve on our Harmony Water Softener does need to be enclosed and protected from the elements. If you install the unit outside, it would need to be protected entirely in an enclosure to retain its warranty.

  • Battery back of some sort?? I just had a power failure and when power is back on, I had to re input the time, when I did that it also reset the amount of water left before regeneration

There is no battery back up. You will need to reset the time and gallons in the event of future power outages.

  • Can I use potassium instead of salt for the softener? So I can use the water for plants.

yes potassium is compatable with our water softener

  • How do you set it to manually run through its regeneration cycle?, only answer if you precisely quickly answer correctly please

Press and hold the cycle button for 5-8 seconds.

    The 64,000 unit is 20gpm

  • How much water does this unit use to regen a week?

This system uses 40-60 gallons per regeneration.

  • I recently purchased and installed the AS-HS64D. Since the install, it has used 150 gallons of water during each of its five regenerations. What could be causing it to use so much water to regenerate?

This is likely due to the settings. I would recommend checking to make sure the settings on the valve match what is in the manual.

  • Hello, from your photos, it shows the water line high off the ground. Our water line coming into the house is probably 8" off of the ground. Is there a way for this to be installed with that height?

It's best to consult with a plumber for installation questions that may require special attention such as your situation.

  • Hi i misplace my Power Adapter, how can i order a new Power Adapter?

We sell that system here through our store.

  • can I get the m model

We have this model in standard resin (D) and fine mesh resin (FM) on our site under the Harmony Series.

  • compression fittings for line going into salt tank

We no longer use the bulkhead fittings on standard brine tanks. Those can normally be removed and the line fed straight through.

  • i have the Harmony Series 64,000 grain water softner. i have been away from the house for 6 months due to covid. when i left i put it in bypass. we will be going back next month. i do i restart the system? thank you, charles

Remove system from bypass postition and into service position, run a manual regeneration and you system should be working as normal.

  • I have 110 grains of hardness rural water 2 bathrooms family of 4 Can you suggest a Model? Would this model treat my water Aquasure USA | Item #SPM11434982213 | Mfr. Model: #AS-HS64FM

You will need the 64,000 grain unit based on your hardness level. The FM units are for levels of higher iron and can remove up to 10ppm of iron. The standard units can remove up to 2ppm.

  • I am looking at a water softener to that 110 grains of hardness I was told this AS-HS48SCP would work is that correct? I am looking at a water softener to that 110 grains of hardness I was told this AS-HS48SCP would this unit work family of 4.

The 64,000 grain unit would be better to use. 110gpg is the max our largest softener can handle.

  • how many gallons of water will be drained during the regeneration process for the water softener 64000 grains? Thank you

10 gallons, or the amount of water in the tnak. The system consumes 50-75 gallons per entire regen process.

  • Water softener. 4200. Can you put it outside Home Depot doesn’t even know this

Outdoor install is not recommened as it voids the warranty. We reccomand if insatiing outdoors building a shed or enclosure around the system to keep it safe from the elements.

  • Do you have to reprogram when you add salt

No, you do not need to reprogram the system when you add salt.

  • Is the resin 10% cross linked?

The resin in this softener is 8% cross-linked. Our fine mesh resin is 10%.

  • What type and size of overflow pump do you need for the salt tank if there is no floor drain?

The optional overflow nozzle of the salt tank takes a 1/2" hose, preferably a softer, more flexible hose than what we provide for your drain line.

  • I have a small closet measuring 25"W x 17"D x 52" H. Do you have a softener system that will fit in that space and handle 48,000 grains? Perhaps a smaller than normal brine tank?

With the control head installed on the tank, we don't have a system that would fit that height limit. Our 48,000-grain tank measures 62"x10".

  • do you install the V series filter before the softener or after?

hello - yes the filter would go before the softener; please reference diagarm on page 6 in the link provided

    https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0298/3097/1451/files/Aquasure_Harmony_Series_Installation_Manual_-_Ver4-WEB.pdf?v=1609960980

  • Is the flow design co-current or counter-current? What is the brine consumption on regen?

Our systems employ the counter-flow method that pushes the water down into the resin for proper ion exchange. The 64,000-grain tanks consume between 8-11 lbs of salt during regeneration.

  • Please me what the distance is from the inlet and outlet fittings to the floor. My connections are about 3ft off the floor so I will need to pipe up to these connections.

hello - the distane from the intel/outlet to the floor is 53" inches on our 64,000 grain

  • What is the service flow rate for this model?

The service flow rate for this model is 20gpm.

  • Can I install outdoors is it water proof

    • An outdoor install is unfortunately not recommended as it voids the warranty. Due to the electrical control valve head, we would not be able to guarantee the best performance if the system is exposed to the elements. When exposed to the elements, there is also the chance for rust to occur, which can be a slow killer for the system.
    • In rare instances, certain homes are plumed to have the inlet/outlet meet the water softener outside. If this is the case, we highly recommend building a small shed or enclosure around the system to keep it safe from the elements.

  • wat kind of salt should I use in my 64000 grains system

We tend to recommened the pellet shaped salt as it tends to dissolve more evenly than other shapes. However, the system will take any type of salt so long as the salt states that it is formulated for water softener use.

  • Can you tell me what if any the difference is between model HS-H64D and the model 64FM.

The 64FM includes a Fine Mesh Resin that also eliminates iron in the water on top of softening the water.

  • 64000 grain is the max capacity of this system is the performing capacity is same? If not how much it is to be used for system capacity calculation.

You would normally use the following calculation to determine the best number of gallons to set for the system. By default the control head will start with just 1000 gallons.

    https://aquasureusa.com/pages/aquasure-harmony-water-softener-support?q=calculator

  • How much water and salt is used for regeneration

    Gallons Consumption Per Regeneration:

    64 Grain  -  50-75 gallons

    Salt Consumption per regeneration:

    64 Grain   -  18-20 lbs of salt

  • What are the electrical requirements for this unit? Are there things other than salt that are routinely added or maintained?

What are the electrical requirements for this unit?

Class 2 Power Supply / AC Adapator

    Input : 120 V ~ 60Hz

    Output: 24V ~ 450mA

Are there things other than salt that are routinely added or maintained?
No. Any additives or cleaners that are formulated for water softener use are purely optional as salt should be the only thing needed regularly to maintain water softness between regenerations.

  • my water has tested at 19 - 21 grams hardness and 11 to 14 ppm iron. Can the HS64D handle the iron. what is the iron rating on this model.

Normally we would recommend the fine mesh version of the 64,000-grain system AS-HS64-FM. However, the AS-HS64-FM can only provide a maximum of 10 PPM of iron filtration/reduction and if your iron levels are between 11-14 PPM then they far exceed what the system can effectively filter. With that being said, we would recommend looking into a different system as non of our water softeners would be able to filter out such high iron levels. We hope this information helps.

  • Need to know how much space I would need for both the brine tank and the resin tank? We use a pelican salt free water softener which has been a way overpriced absolute joke! Pretty sure it does absolutely nothing. We have limited space where it’s at though and before I purchase I need to know if it will fit.

The AS-HS64D system require a floor space of 18" x 30" minimum to operate. the dimension of the system is 13" Dia. x 64" H for the resine tank and 16" W x 16" L x 35" H for the brine tank. Depending on how the line is connected, it might require more space to properly install the system.

  • Do you recommend a plumber?

To answer your question, plenty of people have installed our water softener systems themselves with no issues. However, if you are not as confident with plumbing work we generally recommend seeking out a professionally licensed plumber in your area and to shop around for the best qoute for install.

  • Is this product able to be installed outside?

Thanks for reaching out to Aquasure Support regarding your install question. We always recommended an inside install as we cannot guarantee great performance if it is installed outside amongst the elements, which can also lead to system damage. If you absolutely must install the system outside we recommend building a small shed or enclosure to ensure that the system is protected from the elements.

  • What is the pressure coming out of the waste water line?

    Hello,

The water coming from the drain line for the 64,000 grain unit would be 20GPM.

  • The system has been installed for 6 weeks by a plumber. The brine tank always has several inches of water above the salt. Is this normal?

    Hello,

Yes, this is normal for our system since they are concidered saturated brine units.

This would mean your system will sit stagnet with water when it is in service.

  • Does it include or is there an add-on for a Carbon filter? (to remove chlorine?)

Yes, the SKU for the water softener and filter is AS-HS64SCP

  • I’m looking for a water softener I have well water that has hardness of 438.1 I am not sure how to convert to what size unit to get

To convert to GPG, divide the number by 17.1.

    438/17.1=25.61

  • How much salt is in the drinking water when this system is installed?

    Hi Nick,

The water softener only uses salt when it is regenerating, otherwise you should be fine.

  • How do I know whether to get a 48,000 grain or 64,000? I am dealing with extremely hard water . We have had it tested .

Please call us in for a recommendation.
    1-800-661-0680

  • What is the difference between AS-HS64FM?

The iron reduction. AS-HS64D helps with up to 2PPM of iron, whereas AS-HS64FM helps with up to 10PPM of iron.

  • what is the voltage required?

    120

  • Is this softener 120 volts or battery operated?

    Ac adapter , 120v

  • What is the percentage of Resin in the 64k grain unit?

    2cf of resin - 8% crosslink

  • What kind of salt do I use in brine unit. Pellets or something different? Aquasure Harmony 48,000

    We recommend pellet style salt!

  • How long after regeneration should I see softer water?

After 2-3 regenerations the unit has gone through.

  • What is the warranty?

Standard 1 year product warranty with the option to extend for 5 years with registration.

  • At the rated 20 gpm, what is the pressure drop?

The pressure drop should be minimal, but it is dependant upon the incoming water pressure of your home

  • Are your Water Softener NSF 44 Rated?

    No, not at this time.

  • Are your systems NSF44 rated?

No, they are not NSF44 rated

  • Water stay in bucket

Thank you for reaching out to us. Outside of regeneration, the water level should always be about half-filled in the salt tank, regardless of the salt level. You should have started with 80 lbs of salt. That amount normally lasts our customers around 2-3 months. Once the salt level is about 2-3" from the bottom of the tank, you'll need to add another 80 lbs.

Please let us know if you have any further questions.

  • How many pounds of salt does the brine tank hold?

Salt tank holds 80 pounds at a time, 120 pounds is the max.

  • What is the recommended regeneration cycle? I just installed my unit and within two weeks it ran out of salt. I'm assuming it had to do with regeneration cycle.

Please calculate your gallons. We have a gallon calculation tool on our website: Gallon Calculation Tool

  • I have purchased your water softener. I also want to add a Watts hot water recirculation unit. Will doing so have a negative effect on your system?

The water softener needs to be installed on the cold water line. Anything before or after is done at your discretion and should not cause any problems if installed correctly.

  • What size hose this the drain tube?

Drain line: 10ft long ½” outer diameter

  • Should my inlet valve be completely open? The directions don’t say anything about the inlet after system start-up?

Yes, both the inlet and outlet should be fully opened once you are done with the startup procedure.

  • what happens to the calicum in the water when it is removed by the system where does it go, and does it collect in a tank and you have to empty it?

    Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to us, the resin will be covered with the hardness and will regeneration (wash off the calcium and magnesium) once your gallons reach zero.

  • After initial setup has the unit regenerated and has soft water ready to use? Also why does the meter gauge of 1000 not decrease with soft water usage?

After first regeneration, your water softener should be producing soft water and your meter should be tracking your gallons if your bypass valves are open! If you need support, please contact our customer service team!

  • I bought a Harmony water softener to replace an existing older unit. The existing unit has the discharge tube going up to the ceiling and then across the ceiling into to drain outside my house. Can they harmony system use the same drain system or does it need to drain with the help of gravity down into a drain?

The drain line can not exceed 7ft vertically - this will create a back pressure issue.

  • How much iron will the 48000 and the 64000 grain units remove?

The amount of iron removed from your water will actually depend upon which resin you choose.
Our systems come standard with a resin that can remove up to 2 parts per million (2ppm) of iron, whereas our upgraded Fine Mesh resin can remove up to 10 parts per million.

The system sizes tell you how many grains per gallon of hardness they are able to remove before needing to be regenerated: I.e. the 48,000 Grain Harmony removes 48,000 grains of hardness from your water before it needs to regenerate the resin beads so they can continue softening your water.

I hope this answers your questions. Please reach out to us via phone or email if you have any further questions or concerns.

    Thank you!
