Harmony Series | 32,000 Grains Water Softener

I have limited room and was wondering if the brine tank could be installed outside? And what is the capacity of the brine tank?

An outdoor install is unfortunately not recommended as it voids the warranty. Due to the electrical control valve head we would not be able to guarantee the best performance if the system is exposed to the elements. When exposed to the elements there is also the chance for rust to occur which can be a slow killer for the system. In rare instances certain homes are plumed to have the inlet/outlet meet the water softener outside. If this is the case then we highly recommend building a small shed or enclosure around the system to keep it safe from the elements.

What are the hose sizes?

3/8" for the brine line and 1/2" for the drain line. 6ft for the brine, 10ft for the drain.

Looking for size recommendation for a house with two people one and a half bath. Hardness is 240ppm and iron is 300 ppm. what size would you recommend?

A 32,000 unit would fit this home size and help with this level of hardness, however our resin options are not equip to handle more than 10ppm under the fine mesh option and up to 2ppm on the standard option.

what is the ppm of iron this will remove?

Our standard units can help with 1-2PPM of rust, and our fine mesh units up to 10PPM.

Can I run the drain and overflow lines up approx 5 to 6 feet to the joists then approx 10 feet along the joists down to a laundry sink. My current unit has no issues with this set up. I want to ensue the pump can push the drain water up and not require the drain line be lower than the exit points on the unit.

Yes, you can run the drain line no more than 7 ft above the unit. The 10ft length should be fine.

are there options for various brine tank sizes. i really want one that is less than 32inches tall max including the lid. what is shortest you can provide

All of our brine tanks measure 33" tall.

What is the actual floor space needed (both tank and tub) for the 32,000 grain system?

brine tank is 15" width and 37" height. Resin tank 32k is 8' width and 52" height.

Need to clear iron from The water as well as calcium. Household is 2 bath 2 people . Which u it is the best choice?

We would recommend one of our fine mesh systems to treat water with iron.

Can this unit be installed outside in South Florida weather?

To stay covered under warranty, the system would need to be protected from the elements, if installed outside.

I purchased the aquasure 32,000 about 2 weeks ago. I followed all the installation instructions to the letter. I pour in 5 gal of water as per instructions. Today I looked into the brine tank it was about 3/4 full of water. Why is there so much water in the brine tank?

The tank should always be around half way full. If there is more water than that in your tank, please contact our support email directly.

Will this system handle high Iron and low levels of Arscnic

The AS-HS32FM (not the AS-HS32D) will remove iron. The AS-HS32FM will not filter arsenic. For arsenic, it would be best to consider a 3rd party pre-filter with catalytic carbon to help address/filter arsenic.

I discovered my new softener's brine tank had filled with water by itself. After manually activating a recharge cycle the tank is now bone dry. Which is it supposed to be between cycles, full of water or dry?

Between regenerations, the brine tank should be half-way filled with water. If this is not the case, please give us a call at 1-800-661-0680.

What is the difference between the digital meter and the electric meter water softener for Aquasure?

Both of those terms are simply referring to the metered control valve head which electronically monitors the gallons before regeneration takes place. You can think of those terms as one and the same.

Is this system made in the United States? and is the Resin Made in the United States?

The system as well as all parts are sourced and made here in the USA.

what is the maximum acceptable distance between the unit and the brine tank. I have problem with space.

The distance between the resin tank and the brine tank should be no more than 6-8 ft. We include a 6ft hose with our systems.

How often do you have to add salt to the tank?

80 lbs of salt normally last between 2-3 months. Once the salt level is about 3-4 inches from the bottom of the tank, you'll want to add another 80 lbs.

Is this an upflow or Downflow system

Our systems operate in a downflow method, pushing the water down into the resin for proper ion exchange.

What is the drain line on the brine tank for. Does it need to be piped to a drain

The drain line is used during regeneration to pump drain water out to the nearest floor drain, dedicated drain connection, laundry style sink, etc. The 3/4" drain hose needs to have somewhere to drain out to during regeneration.

What salt do these use? Pellet or Rock

We recommend salt pellets, as they tend to dissolve more evenly.

Can the brine tank be installed on either side of the resin tank?

The brine tank can be installed on either side of the resin tank so long as the brine line/drain line does not cremp or become restricted. There is about 6 feet to play with for the brine line and 12 feet for the drain line so there should be more than enough length for either side.

What is the height of the inlet and outlet pipes?

On a 32 grains water softener the height of the inlet and outlet from the bottom of the tank to the connections is 44". 

Looking at the Harmony Series | 32,000 Grains Water Softener AS-HS32D. What is the maintenance required with this system? Other then adding salt. House of 3 on a personal well. Probably less then normal water use. Hardness is around 20 grains. No Iron. High end for nitrates. Thank you.

Hi David,

The system you selected will definitely provide the home with soften water.

We would recommend going with the 48K system, to help lower the frequency of the automatic regeneration cycle needed each month.

Outside of adding salt, we recommend to manually clean out the brine tank once every 6 months to 1 year.

We also recommend adding a carbon based prefilter to help remove any chlorine in the home.

Chlorine damages resin beads over time.

The system will not help with the Nitrates level.

Can this unit be installed outdoors?

It is not recommend to install outdoors, if so we highly suggest a shelter to cover the unit from outdoor elements.

Does this water softener er remove calcium carbonate? I purchased one and so far I do not see much improvement on the softening. According to my water company's water report the calcium ppm of my town is 290ppm in calcium carbonate? The specs say this removes calcium so should this system remove the calcium hardness.

Where can I find the complete specs. for your AS-HS32D. I am looking for the amount of resin, resin cross-linking, Softener Efficiency Rating, etc.

We currently do not have a spec sheet curated. The 32,000 Grain Water Softener is 1 CF of 8% cross link cation resion with a softener efficiency of 5,000 grains per 1lb of salt.

How often do you have to add Salt for treatment?

80 lbs of salt should last you 2-3 months before needing to add more salt.

How many gallons can a 32000 grain go between cycles I did the calculation tool and it said to set mine at 3500 gallons is that to long between cycles?

Can you use the FM series if you don’t have high Iron?

Yes you can, but not needed if iron levels are not above 2PPM

How do I drain this for removal?

You can run a regeneration with the bypass valves closed - this will help relieve water pressure in the tank.

What is the difference between this Model AS-HS32D and AS-HL32C? They are both 32,000 grain but the AS-HL32C is a single tank requiring less space.

Same performance for both systems, the Harmony Lite is just all-in-one for customers who desire a compact system or have small spaces.

By conditioner do you mean the pre-filter? If that's the case, then a pre-filter is generally recommended for customers to have to improve the quality of their water and to protect their softener. Many chemicals you can find in city/well water can reduce the lifespan of the resin within the softener.
