    Yes it will be installed before the water softner.

  • Can a Fortitude whole house filter system be installed outside? My main water inlet is outside and there is no feasible ways of installing it indoors.

    We recommend having some kind of cover or enclosure around the unit for outside install to keep it safe from the sun and from freezing.

  • Will it stop the powdery substance that accumulate on my refrigerators ice machine?

    This filter removes the following contaminates: sand, dust, sediment, rust, taste, odor, color, chlorine and chlorine by-products, herbicides, pesticides, VOCs. You may want to conduct a water test to determine what substance your refridgerator and ice machine accumulates.

  • How many gallons per minute does this filter?

    20 GPM

  • Will it take the smell from well water away

    Our carbon filters will help with most odors but not a "rotten-egg" smell, as this is an indicator of sulfur. For that, you will need a Fortitude KDF85 upgraded media tank.

  • Does this filter remove lead?

    No, the carbon dual filter does not remove lead.

  • Is this just the filter insert? Not the whole housing?

    This includes the whole housing and filter cartridge.

  • Does the filter ...... filter out Calcium ?

    This unit does not filter out calcium. To help combat calcium buildup, a water softener is more ideal for this issue.

  • What is the flow rate(gallons per minute) on the F120scp filter?

    Yes, the standard V serires filters will accepnt a normal 4.5 x 20 in filter.

    The V2 series of filters, however, will not.

    The flowrate is 8GPM and it must be placed prior to the water softener.
