Are the Aquasure harmony model AS-HS48FM sold in the big box stores, like Lowe's, Home depot the same as the model I could order from your website? Where would my order ship from if ordered on your website? My old softener looks like it has 3/4" copper supply lines.

Yes, potassium chloride is fine to use instead of sodium.
can this softener be mounted outside in a warm climate

The softener can not be installed outside where it is exposed to the element. If installing outside is the only option, we recommend building a shed or cover with a tarp so the system is not exposed to sunlight or rain directly. Please also follow local guideline during the installation of the system.
Does the valve have an auto bypass feature so that water is still available for use during regeneration?

The valve does not have an auto bypass feature.
What is the pressure drop?

The pressure drop after installing the system is barely noticiable. Please reach out to our support team if you have further questions.
How will I know it is time to add salt?

A good time to add salt to the brine tank is when the salt level is about 1-2 inches from the bottom of the tank. Then you can add 80 lbs of salt to the tank.
