For the past several months, we’ve seen a steady flow of orders for the Aquasure Fortitude V2 Series High-Flow Whole House Sediment/Carbon/Zinc Triple-Purpose Filtration System, aka the AS-FS-25SCZ. Our warehouse is always busy packaging and shipping out hundreds of these filters every few days. But why is this filter system so popular? Below we’ll go over some of the features, benefits, and why this system continues to dominate the whole house filtration genre.
Before we get into all that, it’s important to understand what the Fortitude V2 is all about and how it works. Unlike pleated filters, the Fortitude V2 Series incorporates a multilayer material that sandwiches a combination of carbon and copper zinc to trap sediment and inhibit bacterial growth. The inner carbon core absorbs chlorine, improves taste, eliminates odors, and chemicals such as VOCs and pesticides, making this design one of the most versatile water filters for both residential and small commercial applications. The V2 can be installed right before a water softener to help protect the resin media inside the tank or it can be used as a stand-alone filter for those who source their water from a private well.
The V2 isn’t just for residential applications, it can be used as a filter for many commercial establishments. The dimensions for the V2 are as follows: 14" H x 8" W x 8" D. This stout system is robust and was built for heavy-duty filtration use. The cap is equipped with a pressure release valve and 1” ports, meant for high water flow situations. With the powder-coated mounting bracket and supplied lag bolts, the V2 can be installed right at the water main point of entry of a home or in a well water pump room. The housing wrench makes for easy work when it’s time to replace the filter cartridge.
Believe it or not, the V2 is actually a dual-stage filter. The first stage is a 25-micron polypropylene sediment outer shell with Copper Zinc and radial flow technology help traps larger particles such as sand, dirt, rust, sediment, dirt that flow in the water, and inhibits bacteria growth. The 2nd stage: 5 microns granular activated carbon (GAC) helps to reduce chlorine, taste, odor, colors, and other chemicals found in the water including pesticides, herbicides, chlorine, and chlorine by-products.
We sell so many of the V2 filters that it only made sense to combine them with some of our most popular water filtration products such as the Harmony Series and Premiere Reverse Osmosis. We found that using the V2 as a prefilter for the Harmony Series helps improve the water quality before going into the resin tank, which translates to a longer-lasting softener media. With the V2 and the water softener installed, water quality has already been greatly improved. By the time the water reaches the reverse osmosis system in the kitchen, the pre-filters and membranes won’t have to work so hard to filter out any contaminants that are left. This also will also yield longer-lasting RO filters and better-tasting water.
