Will this system remove salt from the water?

The RO System will remove salt from the water. We are assuming you are either on a water source that has amounts of sodium or you could be referring to the trace amounts of salt that can be found in softened water. In any case an RO System will effectively remove any traces of salt and various other contaminants from the water.
can this be hooked up straight to a refrigerator water line instead of the included faucet?

Yes, you can actually install it closer to the fridge as long as there's a source of water, along with a drain. The output of the RO will go to the refrigerator directly instead of going to its own dedicated faucet.
Need to know what size hole to drill in countertop?

7/16” (11 mm) drill bit or approximately the size of a dime is needed.

How long do the filters last?
- RO Pre-Stage Filters
The pre-sediment and the pre carbon (AF-PR2) & (AF PR1): Replace every 9 to 12 months (Private well water source may need to replace pre-filters sooner than 12 months due to heavy sediments and other particulates).
- RO Post Stage Filters
RO-Membrane and Post ALKALINE FILTER (AF-MEM75) & (AF-PR4ALK): Replace every 18 months – 24 months (or two years) (Private well water source may need to replace membrane sooner than 2 year due to lower source water quality).
Based off the manual, this system is recommended only for 10 grains per gallon or less. This should be advertised on the item description on this site. If I wanted to use this system with gpg >10, do you offer filters that can accommodate the hardness demand?

We recommend 10gpg or less for our RO systems to help prevent scaling and build-up inside the system. Our water softeners would be the only system that can remove hardness. Please feel free to reach out to us and we can get you set up with a system that meets your needs.
