No, this filter utilizes materials capable of withstanding bacterial degradation. However, it is not designed to remove bacteria.

Does the sediment filter come with a new whole house filter system? Or do I have to buy the filters separately with a new system?

once a year and washable up to 3 times.

What are the dimensions of this filter as my husband ordered the wrong one on Amazon. Don't want that to happen again since I was the one trying to replace the filter. Another question is I followed the instructions as to turning off main water supply and turning on the cold water faucet but now don't have any water in the faucet farthest away. Help.

Our large size filters are slightly less that 20". Any of our V2 series large size filters will fit that housing.

In regards to the steps you took to replace the filter, if you shut off the main water and closed the bypass valve on the system.

When you have the replacement filter installed please go back and open the bypass valves and turn on the main water.

These steps should allow the water to flow through the system and into the home freely.

Simply rinse the sediment with a garden hose. You can rinse it 2-3 times (a few months apart) before needing to replace the filter.

I have AF-PS-30HFL Filter. What are the upgraded filters to fit this same size when replacing.

We recommend replacing it with the same filter. However, AF-SCZ-25HFL and AF-SPX-25HFL will also fit in the same housing.

The V series uses a universal filter size that works with most aftermarket filters, the V2 series only uses our propriertary filter sizing. The V and V2 sediment filters are identical in their performance. V2 filters can't be used with V housings.
